So you wanna be a Writer...

So you wanna be a writer?

Do the novel thing…

(with apologies to ‘So you wanna be a boxer’ from the movie ‘Bugsy Malone’)

2013 - What's another year...

... or even rather more than one of them?

One hundred and fifty years back from January 01, 2013 - a piece of paper was signed in the not-quiteUnited (at that time, at least) States of America. A piece of paper - but by Presidential authority as commander in chief, it declared all in both the Union and Confederacy to be free. And one hundred and fifty years back from January 10, 2013, the London Underground (the world's oldest underground railway) opened. And these facts have, to the best of my knowledge, only one thing in common.

Once upon a time...

I think those may be some of the most dangerous words in the English language smiley. Not so much because of themselves, but because of where they can take you. in the words of Bilbo Baggins - "It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no telling where you might be swept off to."

Satisfaction - we can't get no.

Heh. With apologies (for the title) to Lord Lord Jagger and Lord Richards smiley.

Writing - Welcome to my worlds.

To the best of my knowledge, Narnia doesn't actually exist. Nor, as far as I'm aware, does Bilbo's Middle Earth. Nor the Chicago inhabited by Sara Paretsky's V.I. Warshawsky.

But that doesn't mean they're not real smiley.

Carpal Tunnel - It's what your left (or right) hand's not for.

No. The dog didn't eat my blog posts. The doctor did.

Alright. She didn't eat them cheeky. But she did tell me not to post any. Apparently blogging was bad for my health. Of course, she said working was bad for my health as well, but I couldn't really stop doing that.

Guest blogging - A Flower on a Fence

I know. I'm late. Again. But I have an excuse! And it was nothing to do with the dog eating my homework. Not even the dog I don't have!

Hmmmm. Where was I?

That's sort of the point. I wasn't here. But I was here somewhere else. In fact, I was being a flower!

No, nurse. I told you. I already had my blue pill!

The Writer's Platform - Getting Personal

Sometimes I’m not here.

Well – that’s not really true. Since ‘here’ is a virtual here, I guess I’m always here. But – sometimes I’m here somewhere else.
Er – what did he say?

Perhaps I should start again smiley.

Writing - The Seven Ages of Write

I don't know if I'm feeling nostalgic. And if I do, it's all Michael Scott's fault cheeky.

Er - Michael Scott?
